Now that it is Christmas break time, the husband and I decided to get out and see some sights around our new home in Dallas, TX. The George W Bush Library is just around the corner, on the campus of SMU in Highland Park. The Library is a beautiful and shiny new building, with many exhibits related to the time when GWB was president. Since we already saw the permanent exhibit last summer, this time we went to view the rotating exhibit side. Every holiday season, they rotate decorations from one Christmas during the GWB administration. This year they were showing highlights of the 2004 administration’s White House Christmas.
The theme in 2004 was Christmas music. Here they recreated the Blue Room Christmas tree covered in musical themed ornaments from all over the country.
There were vingnettes throughout illustrating many popular Christmas songs. Very festive!
The exhibit is very festive and fun, and takes less than an hour to view. Afterwards, we toured around the very pretty SMU campus and then visitied the Meadows Museum of Art, also on campus… more about that soon!
